Terms of Sale- Dahlia Tubers
READ PRIOR TO ORDERING DAHLIA TUBERS:
Overflow Farm guarantees our dahlia tubers will grow and be labeled correctly or your product will be refunded/replaced: buyers' choice. If there is any issue with your order when received, please contact us via email within 5 days of the order receipt. Please be aware that tuber eyes may still be dormant and difficult to see, that healthy tubers come in all shapes and sizes, and that tubers break dormancy at different times depending on the variety.
Please plant your dahlias after your USDA growing zone's last frost date and follow the growing instructions included with your shipment. Your dahlia tubers should sprout within 5 weeks after planting. If they fail to emerge from the ground within 6 weeks after planting, please email us immediately. Problems with dahlia tubers that are not viable must be reported by August 1 of the year they were purchased. Please do not dispose of any tuber or dahlia plant prior to contacting us. No evidence of problem=no refund/replacement.
Overflow Farm is not responsible for tuber failure due to improper storage, weather issues (excessive cold or extreme heat or drought), pests (insects/rodents/other animals), or poor customer care (such as excessive watering) that can adversely affect your purchased tubers. Potting tubers up with the intention of taking cuttings or pre-starting tubers is done at the customer’s risk. While it is not uncommon for growers to take cuttings/prestart tubers, the choice of growing medium, growing temperatures, and the tendency to overwater can all contribute to rotting healthy tubers. Therefore if tubers are used in this manner, replacements/refunds will not be issued.
If it is evident a tuber failed to grow when it was clearly planted within ideal conditions, buyer may opt for a replacement to be sent the following year instead of a refund. Refunds are limited to the purchase price of tubers only and do not include shipping fees or liability or damages from losses resulting from crop failure. If a tuber was mistakenly labeled, contact us before October 1 of that growing year. Once reviewed, a replacement may be issued the following year. We reserve the right to request provision of photographic evidence and/or return of any tubers before a replacement tuber is issued. Shipping is not refunded.
Canceled items/orders: Overflow Farm reserves the right to cancel any item or order due to crop shortage or any other reason before shipment. Buyer will receive a full refund for any unshipped items/orders.
Changing/canceling orders: Once an order is placed, it cannot be added to or changed or combined with another. If something arises that requires you to cancel your order, you may do so up to two weeks before requested ship date. Please email us with your request. We will refund to your original payment method, minus a 15% admin fee.

Helpful tuber terminology and tips for understanding your tubers when they arrive.
- Tubers: Must have an eye, a neck, and a body to be viable. Wikipedia defines them as "a short, thickened, mostly underground stem that bears minute scale-like leaves with buds capable of developing into new plants. It is a specialized storage stem of certain seed plants." The eye is where the new growth comes from, the body is where the 'food' is stored to support the eye in sending out new growth, and the neck is what connects the two.
- Eyes: Points on tuber where vegetative growth emerges from. There may be more than one, they may be sprouting, or they may be tiny. All are acceptable.
- Buds: Eyes that are swollen, shiny and firm and range from green to deep purple in color. If a bud pops off during transit or unpacking, no worries- more will grow around it. Wet sap may ooze from the wound as tubers are full of water, so that is also normal.
- Shoots: The vegetative growth that a bud will stretch into. If your tubers has grown shoot(s) in the bag, simply trim the shoot by half before planting.
