2012 was the first year we grew and stored enough onions to last a year. I attribute our success to what we read and implemented from Eliot Coleman's book, The New Organic Grower.
We start them in groups of 4-6 seeds in 2" soil blocks mid-February and set them out in beds under row cover fabric the first part of April. Each 4-6 onion cluster will get approximately 12" square to spread out in.
